ISMA Releases Latest European Repo Market Statistics - Repo Market Reflects General Difficult Trading Conditions
The International Securities Market Association (ISMA) today released the results of its latest semi annual survey of the repo market in Europe conducted on December 11, 2002. The survey estimates the total value of outstanding repo contracts on the books of participating institutions at that date to be EUR 3,377 billion. This figure effectively establishes the lower boundary for the size of the European repo market and suggests that the market growth has stalled in the six months to December re

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Three-Month HIBOR Futures Contract
Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 14 March 2003, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contract will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

HKEx: Amendments To Listing Rule 38.06 Regarding The Membership Of The SFC(HKEC Listing) Committee And Listing Rule 38.07 Regarding The Quorum Necessary For The Transaction Of Business Of The SFC (HKEC Listing) Appeals Committee
Listing Rule 38.06 has been amended to provide for an increase in the number of members of the SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee and make minor changes of an administrative nature. The amendments to Listing Rule 38.07 relate to the quorum necessary for the transaction of business of the SFC (HKEC Listing) Appeals Committee where the Chairman of the Commission has a conflict of interest.

E-mini™ S&P 500 Futures Surpass 1 Million Contracts On CME
Trading volume in E-mini™ S&P 500 futures surpassed one million contracts in a single day for the first time today, as 1,003,414 contracts changed hands on Chicago Mercantile Exchange's (CME) GLOBEX® electronic trading platform. In addition, volume in NASDAQ-100 futures set a new daily record of 382,611 contracts today.
