New Eurex Exchange Council Elected

The derivatives exchange Eurex announced the election on Thursday of its new Exchange Council. Around 400 companies from 18 countries, which are admitted to trading on the exchange, were eligible to vote. The Exchange Council of Eurex Deutschland was elected for a term of three years.

FSA fines Evolution £500,000 And Mr Christopher Potts £75,000 For Market abuse

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today fined Evolution Beeson Gregory Limited (EBG) £500,000 and Mr Christopher Potts, its head of market making, £75,000 for distortion amounting to market abuse. This resulted from short selling of shares in Room Service Group plc (Room Service) in September and October 2003.

Euronext Q3 2004 Revenues Total € 211.9 Million, In Line With The Company Forecast For Summer Activity - Year-To-Date Revenues Up 1.1%

Euronext NV revenues totaled €211.9 mn during the third quarter of 2004, a 1.5% decrease from the €215.2 mn achieved during the same period in 2003. Quarterly revenues were affected by the reduced trading market activity in the 2004 summer months, due to the lack of volatility.

Eurex Bonds Expands Product Range With European Bonds - Bonds From International Issuers Tradable As Of November 15

The international trading platform Eurex Bonds is poised to expand its range of products in a number of stages, offering bonds from international issuers as well as corporate bonds for the first time. The first stage will involve the addition of a total of 43 new bonds - European Investment Bank bonds and European covered bonds from Spain, France, the United Kingdom and Ireland - on November 15. In addition, Eurex Bonds plans to admit selected corporate bonds before the end of the year.

Chicago Stock Exchange Members Approve Demutualization Plan - Securities And Exchange Commission To Consider

Holders of the Chicago Stock Exchange's (CHX) memberships voted yesterday in favor of a plan to demutualize the Exchange. The vote was 314 in favor, 1 against and 1 abstention. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) will now consider the plan for approval. This decision by the CHX's members to demutualize cannot take effect until approved by the SEC.
