Tokyo Stock Exchange: Change Of TOPIX Methodology For Merger, Stock-Swap, And Other Revisions

Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) announced today that it will change the index methodology for mergers and stock-swaps conducted among companies included in TOPIX, and that it will change dividend treatment in calculating the total return index. TSE also commented on the Free-Float Weight (FFW) calculation, second phase of which is to be introduced in February next year. The details are as attached:

Tokyo Commodity Exchange: Extraordinary Margins On Platinum

At the Precious Metals Market Management Committee held on December 12, 2005, the decisions were made to impose Extraordinary Margins for existing and newly established positions on Dec 15 in the platinum market for the time being, if last prices for the platinum on Dec 13 reach the upper price limit (JPY 135 above the previous day's settlement price) for three contract months or more.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Tuesday, December 13, 2005: Erdene Gold Inc. (TSXVN:ERD) will be removed from the index. The company will graduate to the TSX to trade under the same ticker symbol. BPI Industries Inc. (TSXVN:BPR) will be removed from the index. The company is being delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange but it will continue to be listed on AMEX under the name BPI Energy Inc. and
