  • CME Group Reports Record Options Volume Led By Eurodollar Options - Electronic Trading Accounts For 25 Percent Of All Options Volume

    CME Group, the world's largest and most diverse exchange, reached record options on futures volume on August 8, 2007, when 4,154,124 options were traded at the exchange, overtaking the combined record of 4,091,560 options set on June 2, 2006. An impressive 25 percent of this volume was traded electronically.

  • London Stock Exchange: Number Of Trades On SETS Exceeds 1 Million

    Member firms of the London Stock Exchange today executed over 1 million trades on SETS, the first time in a single day. The milestone was passed at 15:15 BST and it is estimated that there were 1,262,745 trades over the course of the whole day. The value traded on SETS is estimated to have been £17.2 billion, up from the previous record of £13.5 billion set on 28 February 2007. This new record continues the very strong trading volumes across markets in the past few weeks.

  • SEC: General American Life Insurance Company, Former Senior VP Settle Late Trading Charges

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced a settled enforcement action against General American Life Insurance Company and a former senior vice president, William C. Thater, for their roles in a late trading scheme. General American is a St. Louis-based insurance company and subsidiary of MetLife, Inc.

  • OMX - Company Announcement - Statement From OMX Regarding Borse Dubai

    The Board of OMX AB ("OMX") notes Borse Dubai' s purchase of 4.9 per cent in OMX and its statement that it has options, subject to certain conditions, to acquire a further 22.5 per cent shareholding in OMX. OMX has received no further clarification as to Borse Dubai's intentions.
