Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Thursday, January 12, 2006: Espoir Exploration Corp. (TSXVN:ESX.A) will be removed from the index. The company will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange following a plan of arrangement with Rockyview Energy Inc. (TSX:RVE).

SGX Achieves Record Half Year Profit For FY2006 On Back Of Buoyant Market

Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) today announced a record half year profit of S$82.4 million. This is the strongest half year performance since SGX went public in 2000. This was achieved on the back of total operating revenue of S$177.7 million and operating expenses of S$79.4 million.

NYSE Regulation (“NYSE”) announced today that, as part of a joint matter brought with the New Jersey Bureau of Securities, it has censured and fined UBS Financial Services, Inc. of Weehawken, New Jersey (“UBS”), a member firm, a total of $49.5 million for failure to supervise deceptive market-timing activities engaged in by brokers, failure to establish appropriate procedures for supervision and control, and failure to maintain adequate books and records.
