Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited And Shanghai Futures Exchange Sign MOU On Development Of Energy Derivatives
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) and the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) will jointly look into the possibility of developing an Asian energy derivatives market under a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed today (Friday) by Charles Lee, chairman of HKEx, and Jiang Yang, chief executive officer of SHFE.

Australian Stock Exchange: Listed Property Trusts Respond
On Tuesday 8 April, the Australian Stock Exchange requested all the entities that comprise the listed property trust sector to inform the market as to whether their trust arrangements include co-ownership or other agreements that might act as a deterrent to a change of ownership.

The Volume Of Trades In Government Securities On The MICEX In The First Quarter Of 2003 Reached 307,9 Bln Rubles, Almost 10 Times More Than In The Same Period Of 2002
The volume of trades in government securities (GKO-OFZ) on the Moscow Interbank Currency Exchange (MICEX) in the first quarter of 2003 reached 307,9 bln rubles. This exceeds considerably the results of the first quarter of 2002 (31,9 bln rubles).

Stockholmsbörsen Creates Conditions For Higher Liquidity
Stockholmsbörsen is introducing a system with liquidity providers to create the conditions for more liquid trading that will result in lower costs and reduced risks, particularly for transactions involving less frequently traded shares. State And Private Sectors Joined Hands In Promoting Corporate Governance To Further Develop Thailand's Capital Market.
Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak reiterated that Thailand must speed up the establishment of corporate governance and urged both the state and private sectors to help promote and implement it. The Deputy Prime Minister revealed that during the past year, the government has actively created a mechanism to help realize the concept of corporate governance, through both official and the social forces. Somkid stressed that such an ideology needs a lot of work to make it a reality.
