The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that beginning on Wednesday, June 4, 2008, the Exchange will begin publishing data associated with a new volatility-related benchmark index, the CBOE S&P 500 Implied Correlation Index tied to two different option maturities - January 2009 (ticker symbol ICJ) and January 2010 (ticker symbol JCJ).

NYSE Arca Options To Begin Trading Options On SPDR® Gold Trust

NYSE Euronext (NYX) and World Gold Trust Services LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the World Gold Council today announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC ) and the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) approved the launch of options contracts on the SPDR® Gold Trust (NYSE Arca: GLD ). Effective Tuesday, June 3, 2008, NYSE Arca Options will begin trading options on GLD. This is the first U.S. option offering for a commodity-based exchange-traded product.

CBOE Futures Exchange's Average Daily Volume Rose 54% In May - Year-To-Date Trading Volume Is 85% Ahead Of Last Year

The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE), today announced that average daily volume during the month of May was 5,679 contracts, a rise of 54% over the 3,682 contracts per day during May 2007.Total trading volume at CFE during May was 119,271 contracts, an increase of 47% over the May 2007 volume of 81,006 contracts.Year-to-date, total trading volume at CFE stands at 509,210 contracts traded, 85% ahead of the 275,045 contracts traded through the first five months of 2007.

Trading volume on the Spanish exchange came in at €97.47 bn in May. Options and Futures contracts excceded 5 million in May, up 95% from the same period a year earlier. Monthly record high in Corporate Debt trading, at €211.57 bn, up 125.7% from the same month a year earlier. Trading volume on the ETF market came in at €3.56 bn to May, up 144% from the same period in 2007.
