The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced that its unaudited pre-tax profit for the three-month period ending September 30, 2007 was $41.2 million, compared with pre-tax profit of $16.3 million for the same period a year ago. Net income for the third quarter was $22.7 million, compared with $9.1 million for the third quarter in 2006. Developing Global Framework For Capital Markets Transactions Can Be Taken In Steps - SIFMA And IIAC Urge G7 To Support Facilitation Of Cross-Border Business

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC) called on the G7 today to explore global regulatory structures in order to address the increasingly global nature of financial markets. Specifically, the associations believe that exemptions from local licensing requirements should be provided for global firms’ cross-border transactions with institutional investors.
