NYSE Euronext To Purchase 5% Equity Interest In India's Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) - NYSE Euronext's First Investment In A Commodity Exchange In Asia Pacific

NYSE Euronext (NYX), the world's leading and most diverse financial market group, today announced that it has signed a binding term sheet to acquire a 5% equity position in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), India's leading commodity marketplace, subject to certain conditions. The 5% equity investment is the maximum equity interest permitted by foreign investors in derivative exchanges under current Indian law. Closing of the transaction is expected to take place during the first half of 2008,

FINRA Charges Broker For Misappropriating Almost $400,000 From 97-Year-Old Widow And Her Charitable Foundation - Broker And His Wife Also Face Additional Related Charges

The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) today announced it has charged registered representative John Edward Mullins, of Margate, NJ, with misappropriating almost $400,000 from a 97-year-old nursing home resident who was a Mullins' client for more than 20 years, as well as from her charitable foundation. The customer has recently passed away. Broker Kathleen Maria Mullins, John Mullins' wife, was also charged with wrongdoing.
