The CBOE Futures Exchange, LLC (CFE) announced that the Exchange set a new single-day trading record on Wednesday, August 1, as volume totaled 27,907 contracts traded. Yesterday's new record, the busiest day in CFE's three-year history, more than doubled the previous high of 13,553 contracts traded, which was set just four trading days ago on Thursday, July 26. Futures on the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) accounted for 26,846 contracts traded, which was also a new single-day record for VIX futures

Trading on the Dalian Commodity Exchange received a major boost on July 31 from the strong debut of Linear Low Density Polyethylene contracts, or LLDPE. There were 36,330 LLDPE contracts worth 2.297 billion yuan that changed hands, with open interest standing at 3,708 contracts.

The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that total volume for the month was 87.2 million contracts, making July 2007 the busiest month ever at CBOE. July's totals topped the previous monthly record, set in March 2007, of 83 million contracts and represented an increase of 64% over the July 2006 total.
