Clearstream has been approved both as Foreign Indirect Participant (FIP) in the Bank of Japan’s Government Bonds Book-entry System and as Qualified Foreign Intermediary (QFI) by the Japanese National Tax Office. It can now offer book entry and internal settlements of JGBs on its Luxembourg platform.

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 755,649,404 shares as of the November 15, 2006 settlement date, a decrease of 13,627,946 from the 769,277,350 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-October. The November figure represents trades through November 10, 2006.
