Eurex World's First Clearinghouse To Introduce Remote Clearing - Launch date Is August 1st

Eurex is the world's first exchange to expand its remote membership policy and facilities, already valid for trading, to clearing. So-called Remote Clearing will be introduced on August 1. Otto E. Nägeli made the announcement at a press conference in London on Monday. Eurex At Continuing High Level - 39.8 Million Contracts Traded - Record Turnover In Futures On The Dow Jones Euro STOXX 50 - Good Start For Derivatives On Nemax 50

Eurex, the European derivatives market, achieved excellent results in June with 39.8 million contracts traded, an increase of 3.7 percent over the June 1999 volume. A total of about 237 million contracts have already been traded at Eurex this year. Thus, after only two quarters, trading volume is almost up to the level recorded for all of 1998 (248 million contracts).

489 Billion Euros In Turnover On The German Stock Exchanges In June - New Xetra Records In Growth Stocks, Small- And Mid-Cap Segments

A total of 488.9 billion euros in volume was traded in equities, warrants and fixed-income securities on the German stock exchanges in June, about two percent more than the volume traded in June one year ago. The total comprises 367.1 billion euros in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds, and 121.7 billion euros in fixed-income securities. Trading at FWB, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, accounted for about 88 percent of the total equities turnover in Germany.

FTSE All-World Index Goes Live

The new FTSE All-World Index went live yesterday on 30 June 2000. The index builds on FTSE's existing World Index by adding Emerging Markets data provided by ING Barings. This extends cover by a further 19 countries creating a truly global index. The FTSE All-World Index includes 49 countries and almost 2,600 stocks.
