The American Stock Exchange® Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange® (Amex®) member and non-member organizations reported short interest of 465,435,376 shares as of the December 14 settlement date, an increase of 16,549,545 shares from the 448,885,831 shares (adjusted) reported in mid-November. The December figure represents trades through December 11, 2001.

SEC Fee Rate Advisory #7

The Congress has passed, and will soon send to the President for signature, H.R. 1088, the "Investor and Capital Markets Relief Act." If signed by the President, this Act would substantially reduce the fee rates under Section 6(b) of the Securities Act of 1933 and Sections 13(e), 14(g), and 31 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934. Samer Iskandar Appointed Director, Head Of Corporate Communications Of Euronext N.V.

Samer Iskandar has been appointed Director, head of Corporate Communications, of Euronext NV. Samer will define and conduct the group's communication strategy towards the media, and will be a member of the Executive Committee of Euronext NV. He will be in charge of the press offices of Euronext in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris, as well as those of exchanges that might be absorbed by Euronext in the future.

NYBOT Announces New Coffee Bagging Procedures

The New York Board of Trade (NYBOT®) announced today that effective January 2, 2002, amendments to its Coffee, Sugar and Cocoa Exchange rules require warehouses to flag Exchange lots that need to be rebagged in its Commodity Operations Processing System ("COPS"), as well as provide procedures for the coffee owner to contest the warehouse's determination.

Correction: Quarterly Review Euronext 100 & Next 150

Contrary to the press release of 18 December Eurocommercial Properties will not enter the Euronext 100 index, but the Next150 index. Instead, Rodamco Europe will enter the Euronext 100 index and not the Next 150 index.<
