For the period from August 18th, 2003, to August 22nd, 2003, total trading volume on FORTS (Futures & Options on the RTS) Derivatives Market grew by 31% in rubles and 28% in contracts and reached 614 thousand contracts and 4 924 million rubles. Total open interest as of August 22nd, 2003, grew 7% in rubles and 3% in contracts and reached 4 003 million rubles and 544 thousand contracts (as of August 15th, 2003, the numbers were 3 743 million rubles and 3 286 thousand contracts).
CBOT Signs Memorandum Of Understanding With Taiwan Exchange

The Board of Directors of the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) to pursue cooperative and potential joint business initiatives between the two exchanges.

The highest turnover was recorded on 9th February 2000, and exceeded 1 110 million zloty. The last highest turnover value was recorded on 13th December 2000.

Yesterday, the total futures turnover recorded 43 991, the highest volume ever. The volume of traded futures on the Warsaw Stock Exchange futures market is 15% higher, than the previous best (11.10.2001).
