  • virt-x Adds Leading Pan-European Blue Chips

    virt-x plc announced today that from 8.00am this morning the virt-x pan-European blue chip equity market will, as planned, offer trading in the constituents of the DJ EuroStoxx50 and DJ Stoxx50 indices, bringing the total number of stocks available on the virt-x market to 280. The remaining stocks in the European blue chip indices will be added on 9 July. Following the completion of the phased launch, virt-x will support trading in 613 European blue chip equities.

  • Virtually All Previous Volume/Open Interest Records Shattered In June At The KCBT

    June was the largest trading month ever at the Kansas City Board of Trade as new volume records were set for the exchange as a whole, for wheat futures and for wheat options. And, new open interest records were set for wheat futures and wheat options. Entire exchange volume during the month of June amounted to 352,271 contracts, which broke the previous monthly record of 335,203, set in June of 2000, by 5.1 percent. The new record is not only for June, but for any given month.

The index constituents include Nokia, Sonera, Tietoenator and Elisa Communications, Comptel, Elcoteq, F-Secure, Perlos, Jot Automation Group and Stonesoft.
