Copenhagen Stock Exchange: Handsome Price Rises In April

In April, the KFX Index gained a little over 10 per cent, which is the 5th largest month-to-month increase since the introduction of the KFX Index. To the shareholders the price rises mean that the value of the Danish equity market has grown by DKK 57.3 billion in April. In the first four months of the year, the KFX Index has gained some 3 per cent.

CBOT April Volume At 30,642,252 Up 29.1% From A Year Earlier

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced exchange trading volume of 30,642,252 contracts for April 2003, up 29.1% from the same month a year earlier, and bringing the total for the year-to-date (YTD) to 125,792,836, an increase of 32.4% from the total for the first four months of 2002. The April total was the seventh highest month on record for the CBOT.

BrokerTec Futures Exchange (BTEX), the nation's only fully-electronic fixed income futures exchange, announced today that volume year-to-date is up 54 percent over the same period last year - turnover for the first four months of 2003 was 669,763 contracts compared to 435,103 contracts during the first four months of 2002.

April Volume: CME April Volume Totals 49.5 Million Contracts, Averaging 2.35 Million Contracts Per Day - GLOBEX® Electronic Trading Volume Of 22 Million, Up 73 Percent Over April 2002

Trading volume on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) averaged 2.35 million contracts per day during April, an increase of 19 percent over April 2002. April volume totaled 49.5 million contracts, including more than 22 million contracts traded on CME's GLOBEX® electronic trading platform, an increase of 73 percent from April 2002 levels.

Cash products The number of transactions traded in April 2003 on Euronext cash markets have increased by 20.6% year-on-year: the 13 million transactions registered during the month bring to almost 50 million the total number of transactions in the year-to-date, growing by 15% compared to the same period in 2002. More than 650,000 transactions were daily traded on average this month, around 594,000 in the year-to-date.

259 Billion Euros In Turnover On German Stock Exchanges In April - 50 Percent More Transactions In April Than In Same Month Of Previous Year

The aggregate turnover statistics for April 2003 show that a total volume of some 259 billion euros was traded on the German stock exchanges - some three percent less than the previous month (March 2003: 266.8 billion euros). The total comprises 190.7 billion euros in equities, warrants and exchange-traded funds as well as 68.2 billion euros in fixed-income securities.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In The S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index

Standard & Poor's will make the following changes in the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index after the close of trading on Thursday, May 1, 2003: Rider Resources Ltd. (TSXVN:RID) will be removed from the S&P/TSX Venture Composite Index. The shares of the company will be delisted from the TSX Venture Exchange at that time. The company will graduate to the TSX to trade under the symbol "RID" effective at the opening of trading on Friday, May 2, 2003.

Standard & Poor's Announces Changes In S&P Canadian Indices

Standard & Poor's will make the following change in the S&P/TSX Capped Telecommunication Services Index: Effective after the close of trading on Friday, May 2, 2003, the following change will take place in the S&P/TSX Capped Telecommunication Services Index. The relative weight of Telus Corporation (TSX: T) will decrease by approximately 5.16% in the index. The relative weight change reflects an adjustment to the float shares pursuant to S&P/TSX Canadian Sector Index methodology.
