Positive sentiment continued to lead the market higher as it leapt 3.4% to yet another record weekly close of 1,747.21 points. Financials were once again in the spotlight as Barclays added 40t to P12.50 on nearly 30,000 shares with BIHL 30t higher at P11.30 but on small volume.

Furmart announced good results for the six months ended 31st January 2001. Revenue rose 29.4% to P46.865m with income after tax up 17.4% to P5.896m. Dividends rose 17.4% to 4.28t per share.

The Central Bank Of Iceland Auctions Repurchase Agreements For 29.4 Billion Krónur.

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on March 20 of the maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 11.4 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 29.4 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

The Eurex Board of Directors appointed Daniel Markus Gisler to the Executive Board of Eurex Zürich AG on Tuesday, effective retroactively from March 15, 2001. At the same time, the Supervisory Boards of Eurex Frankfurt AG and Eurex Clearing AG appointed Gisler to the Executive Boards of the respective companies. Gisler will be responsible on the Eurex Executive Board for the Clearing Division, which was headed by Otto E. Nägeli until March 20.
