Stock Exchange Of Thailand Presents Seminar On The New Public Company Act

Mr.Suthichai Chitvanich, Senior Vice President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) disclosed that the new Public Company Act which was approved by the senate will benefit businesses as well as debt restructuring. Listed companies on the Exchange will also benefit from the new Act in terms of management, and new tools will be available to enhance efficiency in generating returns for investors.

On Friday, Deutsche Börse AG presented its planned rules for the delisting of companies from the Neuer Markt. The new rule is based on a combination of share price and market capitalization as quantitative criteria, as well as the insolvency of a company as a qualitative criterion. SEHK To Introduce A Trading Fee To Replace Its Portion Of Transaction Levy

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (SEHK), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, will introduce on 1 September 2001 a Trading Fee of 0.005 per cent per side of the consideration of a transaction. The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has approved the fee and the related amendments to the various rules.
