Kuwait Stock Exchange Trading Report For April 2003

The index of the Kuwait Stock Exchange reached 3,455.5 points at the end of April 2003, an increase of 582 points from the closing value at the end of March. The weighted index reached 221.06 points at the end of April, an increase of 29.76 points from the closing value at the end of March.

Volume of trading in April was 5,791,050,000 shares, an increase of 115.08 % over the March volume. The value traded in April was KWD 1,787,740,145 an increase of 147.87 % over the March trading value. There were 112,006 transactions in April, an increase of 116.61 % over the March figure.

There were 101 listed companies at end April. The shares of 94 companies were traded in April. In April of the traded companies, 81 increased in price, 11 decreased in price and 3 companies maintained the same price.

The market capitalisation of the exchange at end April was KWD 12,219,387.
