The Securities and Exchange Commission today praised President Bush for enacting H.S. 658, The Accountant, Compliance, and Enforcement Staffing Act of 2003, which will greatly streamline the Commission's efforts to add more than 800 lawyers, accountants, economists and examiners to its staff.

Dow Jones Indexes and RusIndex Company today launched the Dow Jones RusIndex Titans 10, an index based on blue-chip companies headquartered in Russia. The index was developed jointly by Dow Jones Indexes, a leading global index provider, and RusIndex Company, an independent Russian index agency.

Prospectus On Merger Between OM And HEX

On May 20, 2003, OM AB (publ) ("OM") and HEX Plc ("HEX") announced plans to merge. Today, the Board of Directors of OM has approved a prospectus (the "Prospectus") setting forth the terms and conditions of the offer (the "Offer") being made to the shareholders and warrant holders of HEX through which the combination between OM and HEX will be effected.

NYBOT Trading Volumes Continue March Upward - Cotton, FCOJ, Sugar No. 11 And US Dollar Index Show Sizeable Increases

Trading volumes for agricultural commodity and currency products at the New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) continue to show considerable increases. The NYBOT markets posted gains of a 13% increase in total futures and options contracts traded year-to-date, with total commodity futures up 12% for the year and total commodity options traded up 20%. Leading the way were a cotton futures increase of 25%, total currency futures up 28%, and the USDX showing an increase of 31% for the year.

The Singapore Commodity Exchange (SICOM) is pleased to announce the election of Mr Patrick Hays as the new Chairman of the SICOM Board of Directors with effect from 1 July 2003. Mr Hays is the Managing Director of Societe des Matieres Premieres Tropicales Pte Ltd (SMPT) a company of the Michelin Group. SMPT purchases all the natural rubber for the parent company Michelin that has a global tyre market share of about 20%.

CFTC Proposes Rules For Risk-Based Capital And Financial Reporting Efficiency

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is proposing a new margin-based or risk-based approach for determining the minimum capital requirements for futures commission merchants (FCMs).
