SEC Charges Mcafee, Inc. With Accounting Fraud - Mcafee Agrees To Settle And Pay A $50 Million Penalty

The Securities and Exchange Commission today filed securities fraud charges against McAfee, Inc., formerly known as Network Associates, Inc., a Santa Clara, California-based manufacturer and supplier of computer security and antivirus tools. The Commission’s complaint alleges that, from the second quarter of 1998 through 2000, McAfee misled investors when it engaged in a fraudulent scheme to overstate its revenue and earnings by hundreds of millions of dollars. New Listings in 2005 Boost Thai Market Capitalization by Over THB100 Billion

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) summed up its new listings’ performance in 2005. There were 36 new listings, raising about THB30 billion in funds. Their market capitalization, at IPO prices, was recorded at over THB100 billion. More than half of these new listings closed higher than their IPO prices on their first trading dates. Twenty-two companies averaged 22% above their IPO returns, led by Sahamit Machinery, Permsin Steel Works, and Solartron.
Minneapolis Grain Exchange Establishes Year-End Volume Records

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange announced today that it has established several annual trading volume records. Total trading volume totaled 1,422,392 contracts for the 2005 calendar year, topping the previous record set in 2004. 2005 was also a record year for Hard Red Spring Wheat futures with 1,384,750 contracts trading hands.
