In December trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE reached €59.80 bn, 19% up on the same month in 2004 In December trading volume on the Latibex market was € 63 million, setting a monthly record high. Trading on MEFF reached 6.5 million contracts, 44% more than in December 2004. Accumulated trading volume in 2005 in stock futures and IBEX 35 Futures posted record highs. The Company has been notified that on Friday 30 December 2005 Mr Keppel Simpson, the Company’s non-executive chairman, purchased 195,000 Ordinary Shares in the Company at 2.5 pence per share. Following this purchase, Mr Simpson is interested in 480,000 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.6 per cent of the Company's issued share capital.

CME, the world's largest and most diverse futures exchange, posted total 2005 annual volume of 1.05 billion contracts as it achieved double-digit volume gains for the sixth consecutive year. CME total average daily volume in 2005 was nearly 4.2 million contracts, up 34 percent from 2004.

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) today announced the Exchange achieved the highest yearly total volume recorded in its history, with more than 674 million contracts traded in 2005. The Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) announced today that, for the second consecutive year, annual trading volume at CBOE posted a new all-time record. The 468.2 million contracts traded in 2005 represented the busiest year in CBOE history and a 30% increase over 2004's record total of 361.1 million contracts.

The Spanish Cabinet meeting, which was held on 30 December, has given its approval for the creation of the Mercado Alternativo Bursátil - MAB – which Bolsas y Mercados Españoles has promoted to offer a specific treatment to stocks with particular features.
