CBOT Precious Metals Complex Open Interest Sets New Record - Complex Volume Surpasses 10,000 Contracts Earlier This Week

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) announced today that on September 21, open interest in the Exchange’s Precious Metals complex set a new record. Open interest in the complex increased to 15,301 contracts, exceeding the previous record of 14,922 contracts set on September 19. This record comes on the heels of the CBOT Metals complex surpassing 10,000 contracts earlier this week.

Successful Launch Of The Euro Buxl Future - Rising Open Interest And Participant Activity - Over 50,000 Contracts Traded In The First Week

Just over a week after the launch of the Euro-Buxl Future (FGBX) on 9 September, Eurex, the international derivatives exchange, has identified positive initial results. On 16 September, after only six trading days, open interest exceeded 13,000 contracts for the first time. Open interest, or the number of open positions, is a key indicator for end customer business and for future growth of a derivatives contract. More than 50,000 contracts were traded on Eurex in just 6 trading days.

Repo Market Firmly Asserts Its Importance For International Financing - ICMA’s Latest Statistics Show Market Size Estimated At EUR 5, 319 Billion

The International Capital Market Association today released the results of its ninth semi-annual survey of the repo market in Europe conducted on June 8, 2005. The market size is now estimated to be in excess of EUR 5.3 trillion, once again showing a sizeable increase over the previous 6 months.
