Boston Options Exchange September Volumes Reach Near Record Highs

For the month of September, BOX’s average daily volume rose to 337,625 contracts. This figure represents an 8.6% increase over the previous month, and is just shy of the 339,702 contract record set in July 2005. BOX traded over 2 million contracts for the week of Sept 23 and recorded an average of 405,691 contracts per day, both records. The ADV was a 5.2% increase over the previous record set on July 15, 2005.

Warsaw Exchange Announces The WIG20 Index New All-Time High

WIG20, blue-chip index, closed at its highest ever level since its launch in April 1994 and reached today 2,518.73 points. The previous record was set on September 27, 2005 with 2,514.84.

UK’s Financial Services Authority Publishes Proposals For Fund Disclosures To Retail Clients

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today published a consultation paper – CP05/13 Bundled Brokerage and Soft Commissions Arrangements for Retail Investment Funds – which addresses the issue of how to ensure that investors in retail funds benefit from the enhanced disclosure regime being introduced for firms for bundled brokerage and soft commissions from 1 January 2006.

Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To The S&P Global 100 Index

LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton (France, SEDOL = 4061412, GICS Code: 25203010) will be added to the S&P Global 100 index after the close of trading on Monday, October 3. LVMH will replace Gillette in the S&P Global 100 index, which is being removed from the Index after this evening’s market close. Procter & Gamble is acquiring Gillette and the deal will close tomorrow.

SEC: Fee Rate Advisory #3 For Fiscal Year 2006

When fiscal year 2006 starts tomorrow, Oct. 1, 2005, the Securities and Exchange Commission will operate under a continuing resolution that will extend through Nov. 18, 2005. During this period, fees paid under Section 6(b) of the Securities Act of 1933 and Sections 13(e), 14(g) and 31 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 will remain at their current rates.
