Securities And Exchange Commission Votes To End Selective Disclosure - Chairman Arthur Levitt Hails Leveling Of Information Playing Field

The Securities and Exchange Commission yesterday approved a new rule that would end the practice of selective disclosure, whereby officials of public companies provide important information to Wall Street insiders prior to making the information available to the general public. The Commission also approved two new rules to clarify existing insider trading law.

S&P/TSE 60 Index Futures (SXF) Hits The 1 million mark

The Montreal Exchange set a new record yesterday with its S&P/TSE index futures contract (SXF). After only 11 months of trading, the SXF hit the 1 million mark of contracts traded, representing a value in excess of 1,000 billion dollars.

Nymex To Increase Palladium Futures Margins

Nymex To Change Platinum Options Expiration Schedule

The New York Mercantile Exchange has received approval from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to change the expiration schedule for its platinum options contract to the third Wednesday of the month preceding the contract month, beginning with the expiration of the May 2001 contract.

Iceland Statistical Bureau: New Index Values, Effective 01.September 2000.

New values of indices calculated by Iceland Statistical Bureau become effective 01.Sept.2000. CPI for month of September is 199,1 (now 200,1) and CTI for month of September is 3931 (now 3951). Intra-month daily adjustment used by Iceland Stock Exchange will be -5,835% p.a. for the CPI and -5,908% p.a. for the CTI until the end of the month.

Chicago Stock Exchange Surpasses 1999 Total Annual Volume In The First Seven Months Of 2000

The Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX) exceeded its total 1999 annual volume in the first seven months of 2000, propelled by a record July in terms of trade and share volume. Total trade volume in July finished at 5,011,303, an increase of 132 percent over last year, while share volume reached 2,006,855,484, up 89 percent from July 1999.
