Ariba, Inc., Inc. To Join The Nasdaq-100 Index Beginning October 27, 2000

Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq:ARBA), of Mountain View, California, will become a component of the Nasdaq-100 Index®, effective at the beginning of trading Friday, October 27, 2000. Shares of Ariba will also be included in the Nasdaq-100 Index Tracking StockSM (Amex:QQQ). Ariba will replace NTL Incorporated (NTLI), which is delisting from The Nasdaq Stock Market®.

Trading Of Alcatel Optronics Tracking Stock Commences on Nasdaq

The Nasdaq Stock Market® announced that shares tracking Alcatel Optronics, the Paris-based division of Alcatel, began trading today under the symbol ALAO. The tracking stock also began trading on the Premier Marché de ParisBourse, France. It is the most recent addition to a growing list of new issues that have joined Nasdaq® this year.

OM Group: Offer For London Stock Exchange Plc

OM notes the outcome of LSE's EGM held yesterday. There is no comfort from the result for LSE's Board given the split vote, and that only 33 per cent. of the shareholder base voted against the resolution. Iceland Stock Exchange: SAXESS Release Delayed.

Iceland Stock Exchange has decided to postpone the production start of SAXESS 2.1-release for one week. The release will not be on Monday 23 October as planned, but will take place on 30 October. The reason for this delay is that a significant number of ICEX Members could not complete their testing of back office applications that connect to the trading system.

Chicago Board Of Trade And Chicago Mercantile Exchange Statement On House Passing Commodity Futures Modernization Act

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT®) and Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) today provided the following joint statement in response to yesterday’s passage by the U.S. House of Representatives of The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000. The legislation is designed to modernize the laws governing futures exchanges, provide legal certainty to over-the-counter transactions and lift the ban on single stock futures. BSE Announces Fiscal Year-End Results - Continues To Post Record Breaking Numbers

The Boston Stock Exchange has announced a record breaking fiscal year-end. Total annual share volume for the BSE’s fiscal year 2000, ended September 30th, was 5.3 billion, an increase of 31% from fiscal 1999. Total trade volume for the year was 12.6 million, up 39% from the prior year. On an average daily basis, the BSE’s share volume rose from 16.3 to 21.4 million shares per day, an increase of 31%.
