Deutsche Börse is implementing the next version of Xetra, Release 5.0, as of October 2, 2000. The main new features are the extended possibilities for trading on Xetra, multi-exchange capability as well as an additional functionality for warrants trading.

MEFF Sees 26.7% Increase In Trading Volumes For Six Months To June 2000

Trading activity in the first half of 2000 has been particularly string in stock options, recording a year on year increase of 160%. Whilst trading on IBEX 35 futures fell 18%, the volume of options on the same contract rose by 28%. The fall in trading on the 10 year Bono has been partially offset by Member activity through EuroMEFF on the Bund, Bobl, Schatz and Euro Notionnel contracts.

Johannesburg Stock Exchange Boosts Access To Share Information

The revision is in line with the findings of the JSE’s current strategic review and its intention to align its practices with international standards.

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission has confirmed that GEM, the Growth Enterprise Market, is a designated offshore securities market as defined by Regulation S of the US Securities Act. This is because GEM is part of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.

LIFFE Returns To Profit In First Half 2000

Highlights: LIFFE makes a pre-tax profit of £11.2m for the first half to 30 June 2000 compared to a loss of £8.3m for the same period in 1999; Earnings per share were 68.3 pence (after an exceptional credit of 39.6 pence) compared to a loss of 50.6 pence for the first half of 1999.

Central Bank Of Iceland Weekly Repo Auction 15/08 2000

The Central Bank of Iceland held a weekly auction of repurchase agreements on August 15 of the standard maturity of 14 days. The auction was a fixed rate one at 10.6 per cent p.a. Offers were made for a total amount of 17. 9 billion krónur resulting in repurchase contracts for that amount.

Boston Stock Exchange Receives Regulatory Approval For Off-Floor Remote Access Trading

The Boston Stock Exchange (BSE) has announced that it has received permanent approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission for its BEACON REMOTE(SM) trading system. The BSE also announced that it has selected Savvis Communications Corporation as a managed network provider for this new system.
