  • CBOT: Record Volume In Swap Futures

    CBOT® 10-Year Interest Rate Swap futures traded a record 29,035 contracts on February 27. (The previous daily volume record of 24,960 was set on August 29, 2002.) Open interest rose to 42,398 contracts, close to the 42,946 record set on June 14, 2002. February is on the way to posting a monthly volume record, around 5,640 contracts per day.

  • CBOT Sets New Total Exchange Daily Volume Record

    The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) today announced that a new exchange daily volume record was set on February 27 with 2,690,963 contracts traded, eclipsing the previous record of 2,683,610 contracts traded on August 14, 2002. The CBOT's electronic trading platform also set a trading record of 1,305,202 contracts, surpassing the previous record of 1,095,694 set July 24, 2002.

  • SEC Settles With Rhino Advisors, Thomas Badian - Commission Cautions Companies, Investors About Dangers Of Certain Convertible Securities

    The Securities and Exchange Commission today filed a settled civil action against Rhino Advisors Inc. and its president, Thomas Badian, for directing a series of manipulative short sales of Sedona Corp. stock that contributed to the decline in price of Sedona's stock. Rhino, based in New York, manages money for two overseas clients. The Commission's complaint was filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
