  • Record Volume In CME's E-Mini S&P 500 Futures Set On Seventh Consecutive Day Of Million-Plus Electronic Volume

    On the seventh consecutive day of million-plus electronic trading volume on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME)-the exchange's longest string of seven-figure electronic volume on record-volume in CME's E-mini™ S&P 500 futures set a new single-day record yesterday, Oct. 8, of 977,761 contracts. Yesterday was also the second busiest* trading day on CME's GLOBEX® electronic trading platform, with 1,353,053 contracts changing hands.

  • London Stock Exchange Monthly Market Report For September 2002 - SETS Volumes Continue To Rise In September 2002

    The number of trades on SETS the Exchange's electronic order book, increased 52 per cent in September 2002 to 2.3 million trades compared with 1.5 million in September 2001. However, the value traded on SETS decreased by three per cent, from £59.8 billion in September 2001 to £58.1 billion in 2002. The SETS market share was 65 per cent in September 2002, compared with 63 per cent in September 2001.

    Instinet Group Incorporated (Nasdaq: INET) announced today that its U.S. equity share volume in September 2002 totaled 8,662 million shares. This compares to 7,489 million shares in August 2002 and 4,713 million shares in September 2001.

  • CBOT: Mini-Sized Dow Shatters Previous Volume Record

    Yesterday's volume in the Chicago Board of Trade's all-electronic mini-sized DowSM futures contract posted another record with 27,049 contracts traded. This broke the previous record of 20,800 contracts set just two weeks prior, on September 19. Average monthly growth in the CBOT® mini-sized Dow since its launch in April 2002 has been 17%.
