Euronext Amsterdam: Beursplein 5 News Centre For Financial Industry

Euronext Amsterdam is to turn Beursplein 5 into a news centre for the financial industry. After 6 December 2002, once all exchange trading has been computerised, the exchange building will house hundreds of traders and a range of media, becoming a centre for the exchange of information between investors, companies, traders, analysts, the media and the public.

As of mid-November, short interest in 2,941 NASDAQ National Market® securities totaled 3,967,706,706 shares compared with 4,066,564,600 shares in 2,943 National Market issues for the month of October.

The Madrid Stock Exchange Lists 337 New Warrants

Yesterday the Madrid Stock Exchange began trading 377 new warrants, 39 of which have been issued by Citibank, and 298 by BBVA Banco de Financiación. With these new issues, the number of warrants traded on the exchange since the beginning of the year amounts to 1,467. This figure represents an increase of 72% from the 851 warrants issued during the same period last year.

SEC Proposes Issuer Stock Repurchase Amendments - New Rule To Clarify Regulatory Status Of R&D Companies

The Securities and Exchange Commission today proposed amendments that would facilitate and increase disclosure of company repurchases of equity securities. The Commission also proposed a new rule to clarify the status of research and development companies under the Investment Company Act of 1940.

Reorganisation Of SWX Swiss Exchange

At a media conference held Tuesday 26 November, the SWX Group unveiled its new organisational structure. Scheduled to take effect as of 1 January 2003, the new structure provides for a clear line of functional demarcation between the SWX Group and the SWX Swiss Exchange. This reorganisation is aimed at achieving a more efficient means of coordinating the Group's strategic holdings, also at the operational level, as well as realising various opportunities for organisational efficiency.
