Stock Exchange Of Thailand Trading Of TSR To Provide More Room For Exchange Of Rights

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) will begin facilitating the trade of transferable subscription rights, or TSRs, to provide an opportunity for eligible investors to sell their subscription rights if they don't wish to exercise them. The TSRs will be valid from seven days to two months and the trading fee will not be less than 0.25%, similar to trading of common shares.

SEC Announces Approval Of SRO Rules Addressing Research Analyst Conflicts Of Interest

Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman William H. Donaldson announced yesterday the approval of a series of self-regulatory organization ("SRO") research analyst rules that fulfill the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002. The rules approved today build on previous regulatory actions and take a number of significant additional steps towards promoting the independence and objectivity of research.

NYBOT To Delist SPCI Futures And Options Contracts

The New York Board of Trade® (NYBOT®) announced today that effective with the opening of trading on Thursday, July 31, 2003, all Standard & Poor's Commodity Index (SPCI) futures and options contract months that have no open interest as of the close of business on July 30, 2003, shall be delisted by the Coffee, Sugar & Cocoa Exchange, Inc.

The MSCI Taiwan Index Futures open interest has achieved a new record of 102,156 contracts on 29 Jul, breaking its last record of 91,369 contracts on 28 Jul.

LME Appoints Donald Brydon As Chairman-Designate

The London Metal Exchange today announced that it has appointed Donald Brydon as an independent, non-executive, director of The London Metal Exchange Limited and LME Holdings Limited. He is also chairman-designate in succession to Mr John Pizzey, who intends to stand down as chairman towards the end of the year.

HKFE Announces Revised Margins For Futures Contracts

Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited (HKFE), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx), announced that with effect from the commencement of trading on Friday, 1 August 2003, the minimum margins to be collected by an Exchange Participant from its clients in respect of their dealings in the following futures contracts will be as outlined in the table below. The adjustments are based on the clearing company's normal procedures and standard margining methodology.

Committee Of European Securities Regulators Consults On Minimum Disclosure Requirements For Sovereign Issuers And Financial Information On Prospectus

CESR releases today a consultation paper on possible draft technical measures to implement the Directive on Prospectus. The proposed measures would need to be met when securities are offered to the public or admitted to trading. Responses to the consultation paper (Ref. Clearstream And Euroclear To Launch 'Automated Daytime Bridge' By November 2004

Euroclear Bank and Clearstream International today jointly announced the development of a new, automated, daytime Bridge between the two international central securities depositories (ICSDs). The 'Bridge' is an electronic communications link which facilitates the efficient settlement of securities transactions between counterparties in Clearstream Banking Luxembourg and Euroclear Bank.
