HEX: Slightly Lower Trading Volumes Compared To Previous Year
Share prices picked up during last quarter Yesterday, 27 December, the accumulated share turnover for 2001 reached 202 billion euros (2000 total: EUR 227 bn) which was 11 per cent less than in the previous year. The number of shares traded increased by 79.2 per cent and was 11 billion. On 27 December, the total market capitalization of listed companies was 213 billion euros (2000: EUR 318 bn).

Recommended Cash Offer For LIFFE: Offer Wholly Unconditional
Further to the announcement on 4 December 2001 that its Offer for LIFFE was unconditional as to acceptances, Euronext announces that all conditions to the Offer have now been satisfied or waived, and that, accordingly, the Offer is declared unconditional in all respects. The Offer will remain open for acceptance until further notice. LIFFE Shareholders who wish to accept the Offer and who have not yet done so should complete and return their Form of Acceptance as soon as possible.

Mr Kittiratt Na-Ranong, the President of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) announced the Board Resolutions for the month of December 2001 today (26 December 2001). The Board Meeting approved three important issues: 1) brokerage commission and SET membership fees, 2) the maintenance of ceiling and floor prices, and 3) the establishment of a Center to support fund-raising activities and to expand the investor base.
