    The Nasdaq Composite® Index today closed above the 4000 mark for the first time in its 28-year history. Preliminary figures show the Index finished at 4041.45, up 69.34 for the day. The Index topped 4000 only 38 trading sessions after closing above the 3000 milestone for the first time.   • JSE Records All Time High For All Share Index

    A new record closing value of 8,540 was recorded for the JSE/Actuaries All Share Index today. The 8,500 mark has been reached for the first time in the JSE's 112 year history and it is the second consecutive record value for the All Share Index during the current month. The All Share Index recorded a previous high of 8,495 on December 20, 1999.
