Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To U.S. Indices

Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices after the close of trading on Friday, July 29: Intuitive Surgical Inc. (NASD:ISRG) will replace Titan Corp. (NYSE:TTN) in the S&P MidCap 400. Titan is being acquired by a wholly-owned subsidiary of S&P 500 constituent L-3 Communications Holdings Inc. Permal, The $20 Billion Multi-Manager Hedge Fund Manager, Gains Dubai International Financial Centre License

Permal, has today announced that it is the first pure play alternative asset manager to be licensed from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to operate from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The Dubai office is set to open in late August and will be run by Ahmed Nashaat, Permal Senior Vice President.

NASD DR Seeks To Tighten Definition Of "Public Arbitrator" - DR Also Launches Pilot Program To Curb Discovery Abuse In Arbitrations

NASD Dispute Resolution announced today it has filed a new rule proposal with the Securities and Exchange Commission to further tighten the definition of who can serve as a public arbitrator in its Dispute Resolution forum. The proposal is designed to ensure that individuals with even indirect ties to the securities industry are not able to serve as public arbitrators.

ISE Initiates Trading In ISE 50, 100 Indexes

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) said today that it has initiated trading in options on the ISE 50 Index and the ISE 100 Index, expanding its offering of broad-based proprietary indexes. The ticker symbol for the ISE 50 Index is IXK. The ticker symbol for the ISE 100 Index is IXX.
