The international derivatives exchange Eurex confirmed on Wednesday that it is in discussions with a number of U.S. exchanges over a partnership to further develop its U.S. business. The Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges signed a joint branding and marketing agreement with Dow Jones Indexes, a leading global index provider, on 3 January 2006 to create the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans Index, a blue-chip index that covers the largest and most liquid companies in Egypt. The index is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter 2006.

Thai Government Bonds Worth Over THB1.7 Trillion To List On The Bond Electronic Exchange Starting Jan. 5, 2006

Thailand’s Bond Electronic Exchange (BEX) approved the listings of 467 government bond issues collectively worth THB1.7 trillion on the bourse. These bonds have been issued by Thailand’s Ministry of Finance, state agencies, as well as state-owned enterprises. Their listings will boost the total outstanding value of listed bonds to THB2.2 trillion (approx. USD53.66 billion), a 222% increase over the end of 2005.
