Babcock & Brown First Australian Company To Establish Office In The DIFC

International investment and advisory firm Babcock & Brown Limited (ASX: BNB) has been granted a license by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) to operate as an authorised firm in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Babcock & Brown has established a subsidiary within the DIFC for its investment activity in the region.

Archipelago Holdings Releases February 2006 Transaction Volume Data

Archipelago Holdings, Inc. (PCX: AX) today announced its February 2006 market transaction volume data for the Archipelago Exchange (ArcaEx(R)) and the Pacific Exchange (PCX). Specifically, in NYSE-listed equity securities, ArcaEx's total trading market share was 5.0% in February 2006, up from 2.3% in February 2005 and unchanged from 5.0% in January 2006.

American Stock Exchange Publishes Global Clean Energy Index

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) announced today that it has commenced publishing the WilderHill New Energy Global Innovation Index (ticker symbol: NEX). The new index is comprised of companies worldwide whose technologies and services focus on the generation and use of renewable energy, conservation and efficiency, and advancement of low-carbon energy solutions.

Listed companies on The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) posted their 2005 year-end profits at THB537.39 billion (approx. USD13.6 billion), accounting for an overall 13% increase. As in the previous year, the three top industry groups with the highest net profits were Resources, Financials, and Property & Construction.

SEC'S Advisory Committee On Smaller Public Companies Solicits Comments On Draft Final Report

The Securities and Exchange Commission's Advisory Committee on Smaller Public Companies has published for public comment an exposure draft of its final report and proposed recommendations to the Commission. The Committee will consider the comments received before finalizing the recommendations in the report, which is due to be submitted to the Commission by April 23, 2006.

Quarterly Rebalancing And Changes For The S&P Japan 500, S&P/TOPIX 150, S&P Japan MidCap 100, S&P Japan SmallCap 250 And S&P Global 100 Indices

Standard & Poor’s as part of the quarterly rebalancing, will change the shares outstanding for the S&P Japan 500 and its sub-indices effective after the close of trading Friday, March 10, 2006. New shares outstanding can be downloaded in Excel format using the link below. Companies that are constituents of the S&P Global 100 are denoted by an asterisk. There will be no additions and deletions on their constituents.
