Bovespa: Eletropaulo Metropolitana Joins The Nível 2 (Level 2) Of Corporate Governance

On December 13, the shares of Eletropaulo Metropolitanan Eletricidade de São Paulo S.A. (negotiation code ELPL4 and ELPL3) started to be traded at BOVESPA´s Nível 2 (Level 2) of Corporate Governance. Since then ELPL has been included in the IGC - Corporate Governance Index.

Baltic Supramax Index To Replace Baltic Handymax Index

The Baltic Exchange has announced that it intends to cease publication of the Baltic Handymax Index (BHMI) on 23 December 2005. The benchmark dry freight index will be replaced by the Baltic Supramax Index (BSI) on 3 January 2006.

Amendments To Baltic Tanker Assessments

The Baltic Exchange has given one year’s notice of its intention to increase the size of tanker used as the basis for reporting for its Middle East Gulf to Japan route (TD3) from 250,000 to 260,000 metric tonnes. The changes will be implemented on 3 January 2006 following a 3 month period of dual reporting starting on 1 October 2005.

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Announces Successful Transition To Electronic Trading

Winnipeg Commodity Exchange Inc. (“WCE”) became the first commodity futures and options exchange in North America to fully convert from open outcry to electronic trading at 8:30 a.m. CT this morning, when its pre-opening session commenced. The market opened for trading at 9:30 a.m. CT and closed at 1:15 p.m. CT.
