SWX Swiss Exchange: Winterthur Technology Ltd Opens At CHF 33.50

Shares in Swiss grinding machinery manufacturer Winterthur Technology Ltd were traded in the main segment of the SWX Swiss Exchange for the first time today. The issue price was set yesterday (Thursday) at CHF 33. The opening price on the SWX was CHF 33.50, which corresponds to a market capitalization of CHF 123 million. Winterthur Technology is included in the SPI EXTRA® as well as the SPI®.

SEC Votes To Adopt Securities Act Rule Reform And Shell Company Regulations - Considers Matters Remanded By Court of Appeals

On June 29, 2005, the Commission voted to adopt changes to rules regarding various processes regulated under the provisions of the Securities Act of 1933; voted to adopt regulations to deter fraud and abuse in the securities markets through the use of shell companies; and considered matters remanded to the Commission by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

SEC Sues Online Adviser For Conduct Involving “Auto-Trading” - Online Adviser Conducting “Auto-Trading” Program Uses Misleading Performance Projections

The Securities and Exchange Commission today announced the filing of civil charges against Terry’s Tips, Inc., a Vermont corporation, and Terry F. Allen, of Ferrisburg, Vt., for violations related to their operation of “auto-trading” programs. The Commission alleges that Terry’s Tips and Allen used misleading performance projections in marketing the auto-trading programs to clients.

OMX Introduces A Common Global Industry Classification Standard From July 1

As a part of the integration of the Nordic and Baltic securities markets, all six OMX exchanges will as of today use the same Global Industry Classification Standard (GICS) for classifying listed securities. The listed securities in Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius have now been classified in accordance with the GICS standard, developed by Morgan Stanley Capital International Inc. (MSCI) and Standard & Poor’s (S&P).

The number of listed companies amounted to 683 at the end of June (end 2004: The number of members amounted to 147 at the end of June (end 2004:142).
