ISE Elects Two Board Members

The International Securities Exchange (NYSE:ISE) said today that Brian P. Donnelly, of UBS Securities LLC, and John A. Koltes III, of the Archelon Group, joined its Board of Directors, filling terms that expire in May 2006. The ISE Board consists of 15 members, six industry directors, eight non-industry directors and ISE's Chief Executive Officer.

The Irish Stock Exchange will launch its new market, the Irish Enterprise Exchange (‘IEX’), on 12 April next. IEX is a new market especially designed for small to mid-sized companies.

HKEx Welcomes Peter Wong To Join Its Risk Management Committee

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) welcomes the Government's appointment of Peter Wong as a member of the HKEx's Risk Management Committee (RMC). Mr Wong, who will succeed Raymond Or as Chairman of Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited on 1 April 2005, will have his RMC membership term run from 1 April 2005 to 19 January 2006.

Government Bonds To Be Traded On Euronext’s Continuous Market Segment

Euronext Brussels and the Securities Regulation Fund today announce that a market segment for the continuous trading of Government bonds will be created. This decision has been taken following market demand and in line with similar earlier developments both at Euronext Amsterdam and Paris.

First Listing Of An International Bond Under The SWX's New Additional Rules - Banco Itaú SA: USD 125 Million, 4.375 %, To 31 January 2008

On 30 March 2005, the first international bond is to be listed and traded on the SWX Swiss Exchange under the new Additional Rules for the Listing of Bonds. The additional rules came into force on 1 February 2005.

CESR published today its advice (ref. CESR/05-139b) for the European Commission on possible measures concerning credit rating agencies. This paper discusses the issue of how to deal with credit rating agencies in a regulatory context within Europe. In particular, the report identifies whether market failures might arise, and, as a result, whether there is a need for the introduction of some sort of recognition and/or regulation of rating agencies as these are generally not regulated in Europe to
