Fininfo Distributes Industry Classification Benchmark Database On FinWin And Finalim Products

Fininfo, a leading provider of financial information in Europe, has signed an agreement to distribute the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB) database on its FinWin and Finalim products. The agreement means that Fininfo will distribute ICB information across a range of financial institutions throughout Europe.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX) announced today that it has entered into a long-term agreement with Standard & Poor’s to launch options on Select Sector SPDRs [Standard & Poor's Depositary Receipts Trusts] and S&P iShares Exchange Traded Funds [ETF]. Select Sector SPDRs cover U.S. equities; S&P iShares cover global equities with stand-alone regional ETFs of Europe, Latin America and Japan.
SunTrust Capital Markets Fined $100,000 For Failing To Register Research Analysts Under New Rules - SunTrust's 48 Analysts Issued Over 600 Reports Without Taking Qualifying Exams

NASD announced today that it has censured and fined SunTrust Capital Markets, Inc. - the Atlanta, GA-based bank-affiliated broker-dealer and investment bank - $100,000 for failing to register its 48 research analysts under new NASD rules that took effect last year. This is the first NASD enforcement action involving the new registration requirements.
