Investable Weight Factor Change For Mediaset SPA In The S&P/MIB Index

Standard & Poor’s will change the IWF (Investable Weight Factor) for Mediaset SPA (Italy, ISIN IT0001063210), a member of the S&P/MIB Index, from 0.658 to 0.606 effective at the close of trading Thursday, May 19 2005. This is following the acquisition of ordinary shares by Banca Intesa, which has increased its holding to over 5 percent of shares outstanding.

Total open interest as of May 14th, 2004 increased by 2% in rubles and 6% in contracts and reached 7 666 million rubles and 101 thousand contracts.

CBOT Exchange-Wide Open Interest Sets Record

The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) announced today that on Friday, May 13, Exchange-wide open interest rose to a new record. Total Exchange open interest increased to 14,584,115 contracts, exceeding the previous record of 14,487,181 contracts set on April 21, 2005.

HSBC Bank To Join Tel Aviv Stock Exchange

HSBC Bank will become the first fully chartered foreign bank operating in Israel to join the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE). The move, which has received Stock Exchange Board of Directors approval, is a natural step in the expansion of the bank’s activities in Israel. It will also facilitate local financial institutions’ dealings with HSBC. HSBC operates locally through a branch established in 2001 and offers a wide variety of services in commercial, personal, and investment banking.
