NYSE Names Gary M. Stein, Vice President, Investor Relations

The New York Stock Exchange has named Gary M. Stein to the newly created position of Vice President, Investor Relations. Mr. Stein will be responsible for managing relationships and communications with shareholders and the investment community for the NYSE Group, Inc. and will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

In addition to the Dow Jones Industrial Average closing above 11,000 for the first time since 2001, the New York Stock Exchange Composite Index® (NYA) closed at a new high of 8053.42. The previous closing high for the NYA was 8031.66 on Jan. 6, 2006.

NASD announced today that it has charged Oppenheimer & Co. and the firm's CEO, Albert Lowenthal, with knowingly submitting inaccurate and incomplete data in response to NASD's request that the firm perform a self-assessment of its mutual fund breakpoint discount practices. The board of directors of the Kansas City Board of Trade at the December 20 board meeting declared a dividend for 2006 for all full members (Class “AA” Members) of record as of Nov. 29, 2005. A record-high dividend of $7,000 per share will be paid in January 2006. This represents a 4 percent return on seats that last traded at a record-high price of $175,000.

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace, today announced that ICE Futures will launch an electronically traded WTI crude futures contract beginning in February.
