Minneapolis Grain Exchange Establishes Year-End Volume Records

The Minneapolis Grain Exchange announced today that it has established several annual trading volume records. Total trading volume totaled 1,422,392 contracts for the 2005 calendar year, topping the previous record set in 2004. 2005 was also a record year for Hard Red Spring Wheat futures with 1,384,750 contracts trading hands.

Eurex Announces Push To Further Develop U.S. Presence - Talks With Potential U.S. Partners - Parent Companies Support Strategic Direction

The international derivatives exchange Eurex confirmed on Wednesday that it is in discussions with a number of U.S. exchanges over a partnership to further develop its U.S. business. The Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) has established the following trading schedule in connection with the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday: Friday, January 13: Open auction: Financial contracts will close at 12:00 p.m. All other open auction contracts (Agricultural and Stock Index) will close at their normal times.

The Cairo & Alexandria Stock Exchanges signed a joint branding and marketing agreement with Dow Jones Indexes, a leading global index provider, on 3 January 2006 to create the Dow Jones CASE Egypt Titans Index, a blue-chip index that covers the largest and most liquid companies in Egypt. The index is scheduled to be launched in the first quarter 2006.
