HKEx Survey Shows Rising Retail Participation In Stocks

A survey conducted by Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) in December 2005 revealed that the retail investor participation rate in the HKEx stock market has risen to more than 28 per cent of the adult population, from 24 per cent in 2004.

Oslo Børs has reviewed trading in listed company shares over the last six months, and has revised the allocations to the Oslo Børs liquidity categories. 18 of the 21 companies due to be allocated to a liquidity category for the first time have been placed in the liquid categories OBX or OB Match.

European Commission Welcomes Adoption Of Capital Requirements Directive

The European Commission has welcomed the signing by the Council and the European Parliament of the Capital Requirements Directive for credit institutions and investment firms. The Directive introduces an updated supervisory framework in the EU which reflects the Basel II rules on capital standards agreed at G-10 level. Member States can now focus on transposing and implementing the Directive by the end of this year.

Deutsche Börse Presents Revised Proposal For Combination With Euronext - Modification Is Result Of Consultation Process With Key Stakeholders Of Both Groups

Deutsche Börse announced today a modified proposal for a combination with Euronext. The modifications, which are the result of an intensive consultation process with many stakeholders of both groups, including in particular shareholders, issuers, market participants and employees, relate to the governance of the new company, location for group management functions, trading platforms and IT organization. The financial aspects of the transaction remain unchanged.
