UK’s Financial Services Authority Publishes First Paper From The Retail Distribution Review

The Financial Services Authority (FSA) today published the first proposals for discussion from the Retail Distribution Review (RDR). The Discussion Paper (DP) represents ideas from the market and consumer representatives involved in the RDR and follows six months work to address the root causes of persistent problems in the retail investment market.

Swedish Government To Review OMX-Nasdaq Tie-up

The Swedish government is to review the proposed USD3.7 bn (EUR2.7bn) takeover of Nordic bourses owner OMX by Nasdaq. The government fears companies could be forced to operate under U.S. stock market rules.
SWX Swiss Exchange: Rodolfo Straub To Become New Head Of Admission Division

Rodolfo Straub, Head of Capital Markets at the Zürcher Kantonalbank, will take over as Head of Admission at the SWX Swiss Exchange in the fourth quarter of 2007. He will succeed Daniel Keist, who will be leaving the company at the end of July 2007. In the person of Rodolfo Straub, SWX will be gaining the services of a proven expert in Swiss capital market matters.

ASX Cash Market Pricing Update

In April 2007, ASX Limited (ASX) provided an update on Cash Market fees1. In that announcement, ASX detailed a new cash market rebate scheme to commence 1 July 2007: the Large Participant Rebate (LPR) scheme.
