Borsa Italiana Monthly Key Figures - May 2005
Turnover for May 2005 was EUR 85,040.1 million. This compares to EUR 85,884.1 million in April. Archipelago Exchange To Offer Index Services - Index Services To Serve As A Launch Pad For ETFs; Newbridge Nanotechnology Index Is First Index To List On ArcaEx
The Archipelago Exchange (ArcaEx), the nation's first totally open, all-electronic stock exchange, today announced a new service dedicated to indexes. UK's Financial Services Authority Publishes Near Final Prospectus Directive Rules
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has today published its policy statement (PS05/7) and near final rules on the implementation of the Prospectus Directive, following the relevant implementing statutory instrument being laid before Parliament. These issues were consulted on in CP04/16 – The Listing Review and Implementation of the Prospectus Directive.

The Philadelphia Stock Exchange Announces May Volume - “Equity Volume Increases”
The Philadelphia Stock Exchange announced today that equity volume for May reached 134,746,323 shares, up 5.66% from the previous month when 127,531,932 shares traded. Volume for May declined 45.76% compared to the same year-ago period when 248,423,653 shares traded.

Stock Exchange Of Hong Kong Limited Announces Appointment Of New Disciplinary Appeals Committee Convenor
The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, announced today (Monday) the appointment of Larry Kwok as the new Convenor of the Disciplinary Appeals Committee with immediate effect. Mr Kwok succeeds Raymond Tang, who resigned on 5 January 2005. Henry Wu, who was appointed to act as the Convenor of the Committee temporarily, has relinquished the duties accordingly

Standard & Poor’s Announces Changes To U.S. Indices
Standard & Poor’s will make the following changes to the S&P MidCap 400 and S&P SmallCap 600 indices: Western Digital Corp. (NYSE:WDC) will replace Caesars Entertainment Inc. (NYSE:CZR) in the S&P MidCap 400 after the close of trading on Monday, June 13. Caesars is being acquired by S&P 500 constituent Harrah’s Entertainment Inc. (NYSE:HET) in a deal expected to close on or about that date, subject to final approval. SS&C Technologies Inc. (NASD:SSNC) will replace Concord Com

Sponsored Segment At The SWX Swiss Exchange
On 1 July 2005, the SWX Swiss Exchange will inaugurate trading in its newly created SWX Swiss Exchange - Sponsored Segment. The Sponsored Segment will enable the trading of foreign shares that, although not listed on SWX, are sponsored by a participant institution. The sponsor must fulfil market-making obligations in the shares it introduces.
