KCBT Tops Landmark 150,000 Open Interest In Wheat Futures Contract

Open interest in the Kansas City Board of Trade hard red winter wheat futures contract has exceeded 150,000 contracts for the first time in exchange history. At the conclusion of Wednesday’s trade, open interest was at 151,541 contracts. Open interest has been steadily increasing and before this month, the record was at 144,139 contracts on January 27, 2006.
