SGX Donates Over SGD300 Thousand For Sichuan & Myanmar Disaster Relief Efforts

SGX announced today that it would donate a total of SGD324,260 to relief efforts in aid of the Sichuan Quake and Myanmar Cyclone victims. The collection comes from staff contribution, company’s dollar-for-dollar match for donations towards both causes and corporate donation.

NASDAQ OMX Appoints Steve Matthews As Chief Legal & Compliance Officer Of Its Pan-European Market

The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:NDAQ) has appointed Steve Matthews as Chief Legal & Compliance Officer of its Pan-European Market initiative, a high-volume trading platform which will link multiple trading pools across Europe. Mr. Matthews will oversee all legal and compliance work, as well as surveillance functions for the Pan-European Market. NASDAQ OMX announced its Pan-European Market in March and plans to launch in September, pending FSA approval.

SIFMA Welcomes U.S.-Canadian Mutual Recognition Arrangement

The Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) today issued the following statement after the SEC and the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) announced a schedule for the completion of a process agreement that would open the way for discussion of a potential U.S.-Canada mutual recognition arrangement.
