FTSE Med 100 Index Launched

FTSE Group, the global index company, today announces the launch of the FTSE Med 100 Index in partnership with the Cyprus Stock Exchange, Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange and Athens Exchange. The tradable index is the first to cover this region and has been designed to allow the introduction of derivative products and to attract new investment to the region.

The management of Euronext Amsterdam has been informed on the content of today''s press release issued by Van Heek-Tweka N.V. From this press release it appears that Van Heek-Tweka N.V. has applied for suspension of payment. The management of Euronext Amsterdam has decided to impose a listing measure on Van Heek-Tweka N.V. as of Friday 20 June 2003, according to article 65, lid 2 sub a of the Listing and Issuing Rules (suspension of official listing or ''penalty bench'').

CME S&P 500® Futures Contract Breaks 800,000 Open Interest Mark

Continuing a string of five consecutive sessions of record-breaking open interest, S&P 500® futures traded on Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) surpassed the 800,000 mark for the first time yesterday, June 18, with 819,796 open positions. Open interest in S&P 500 futures began its rise to record levels on June 12, with 737,097 positions.

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. Prices Secondary Offering at $69.60 Per Share

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc. (NYSE: CME) yesterday priced the secondary offering by certain of its shareholders of 1,220,635 shares of Class A common stock at $69.60 per share - the same price as yesterday's closing price on the New York Stock Exchange. The company will not sell any shares or receive any proceeds from the sale of stock by its shareholders in the offering.

Change To NZX Market Trading Hours

NZX will change its market trading hours on Monday 30 June 2003, from 9am to 4pm, to new hours of 10am (market opening) to 5pm (market closing). Trade execution cut-off time will be 5.30pm Company announcements will be accepted for release until 6pm. Settlement cut-off will remain unchanged at 4pm. These new hours apply to both the NZSX (equities) market and the NZDX (debt) market.

American Stock Exchange Reports Increase In Short Interest

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) member and non-member organizations today reported short interest of 607,205,869 shares as of the June 13 settlement date, an increase of 63,950,500 from the 543,255,396 (adjusted) shares reported in mid-May. The June figure represents trades through June 10, 2003.
