Publication Of The AMF Position Regarding The Admission To Listing Of Islamic Bonds (Sukuk) On A French Regulated Market

The growth of the Islamic finance market in recent years has prompted applications from some issuers to list sukuk bonds on the Paris market. The AMF therefore asked Board Member Dominique Hoenn to lead a working group, which includes industry representatives, in order to examine the specific characteristics of these bonds in light of the Prospectus Directive. CalPERS announced today that Dennis Johnson, Director of Corporate Governance, will be leaving CalPERS to become Managing Director of Shamrock Activist Value Fund. He also intends on stepping down from the post as Chair of the Council of Institutional Investors Board of Directors.

Executive Summary Effective August 1, 2008, reviews of FINRA staff determinations under the Rule 9700 Series (Procedures on Grievances Concerning the Automated Systems) will be adjudicated by a Hearing Officer appointed by FINRA’s Office of Hearing Officers, subject to discretionary review by the National Adjudicatory Council. The text of the amended rules is set forth in Attachment A of this Notice.

One year after the launch of exchange trading in natural gas on European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) the results achieved are positive. In a relatively short period of time and under difficult market conditions (split liquidity on account of a large number of market areas, existing long-term bilateral agreements), EEX has already managed to achieve a share of 10 percent in the total gas volume which can be traded freely in the two market areas (BEB and E.ON Gastransport).
