The Green Exchange™ Announces First Week Volume For Certified Emissions Reduction (CER) Option Contract - More Than 1MM Tons Trade In First-Ever Exchange Listed Carbon Offset Options Contract

The Green Exchange™ today announces opening week volume for the first ever exchange-traded options contracts for carbon offsets. During the April 21-25 trade week, counterparties transacted 1,150 certified emissions reduction (CER) options contracts. One contract is the equivalent of 1,000 CERs (or 1,000 tonnes of CO2-equivalent reductions), making the first week volume total for the CER Option contract 1.15 million tonnes.

Oslo Børs: Negotiations With Nasdaq OMX On A New Trading System

Oslo Børs decided in February this year to start negotiations with Nasdaq OMX on the delivery of its next-generation trading system, Genium Trading. Oslo Børs has now been made aware that Nasdaq OMX has changed the content of Genium Trading.

April 2008 Monthly Preliminary Performance Report Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Indexes

The Dow Jones-AIG Commodity Index was up 5.62% for the month of April. The Dow Jones-AIG Single Commodity Indexes for Crude Oil, Unleaded Gas and Heating Oil had the strongest gains with month-to-date returns of 17.02%, 15.89%, and 15.71%, respectively. The three most significant downside performing single commodity indexes were Wheat, Gold and Silver, which were down 13.47%, 3.45%, and 2.59% respectively, in April. ICMA Publishes 2008 Legal Opinions On Repo Agreement For 68 Jurisdictions

The International Capital Market Association (ICMA) has published the 2008 legal opinions on the Global Master Repurchase Agreement (GMRA), the standard agreement used for international repo transactions. The opinions now support the use of the GMRA in 68 jurisdictions.

Scoach, the European exchange for certificates and warrants, has been offering trading in around 300,000 products on a new version of the fully electronic trading platform, Xetra, since Monday. This means that, with immediate effect, over 260 banks and brokerage firms – 100 of which are based abroad – have direct access to the world's broadest range of structured products. In the past, these products were traded on the trading floor of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
